Benneckenstein - a true gem in the Harz! The idyllic small town is surrounded by breathtaking nature. The hiking trails offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Be sure to visit the Königsstuhl, from where you have a fantastic view over the entire region.

In Benneckenstein, you will also find many historic half-timbered houses that provide an insight into the town's history. A walk through the narrow streets is like a journey into the past. Particularly impressive is St. George's Church, an architectural masterpiece from the 12th century.

A highlight of my trip was visiting the Samson Pit Mining Museum. Here you learn everything about mining in the Harz and can even descend into the underground tunnels. An unforgettable experience!
